Dottie DeHart, Principal—Dottie is a seasoned media specialist who serves as a strong media contact for broadcast and print media inquiries. Dottie identifies and analyzes communications needs and develops and implements communications strategies and activities. Dottie is responsible for maintaining media lists and contacts. Dottie has placed media in Associated Press Worldwide, ABC World News, BusinessWeek, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Working Woman, Time, The View, and The Today Show.She also develops and nurtures our media contacts so that we create lasting relationships. Dottie runs the news bureau, develops story ideas, and works one-on-one with key media contacts. Dottie holds a B.S. in criminal justice and a master’s degree in political science from Appalachian State University.
Paige Hendren, Senior Account Executive—Paige works closely with media contacts, pitching story ideas. She also books city tours and one-on-one in-office meetings. She develops new media lists based on her research and all technology available. She handles day-to-day booking of the media with an emphasis on closing bookings quickly so that the opportunity doesn’t pass us by. Paige attended Western Carolina University, where she majored in business administration/accounting.
Anna Campbell, Senior Account Executive—Anna not only writes for the firm, but she oversees projects, accounts, and media relations. In addition to running her own freelance writing firm for five years, she has worked in advertising, marketing, public relations, and journalism for more than ten years. Anna holds a B.A. in English literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ashley Lamb, Senior Account Executive—Ashley is our quality control expert. She is an excellent editor, proofreader, and project manager. No project enters our system that does not have her quality seal of approval. Her position is imperative to our clients, as we always reflect the highest quality of production. Ashley holds a B.A. in journalism and mass communication with a concentration in public relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ann Hornberger, Copywriter—A former newspaper and magazine editor, Ann began publishing her work at age thirteen. She is a versatile writer with experience in all media. Her areas of expertise include marketing and communications, life coaching, and strategic planning.
Dave Young, Copywriter—Dave has been a writer, editor, and publisher for more than thirty years. He has extensive experience in launching regional lifestyle publications. Over the course of his career he has written and published more than 1,400 articles in 94 newsletter editions and 209 magazine issues. He has published five different magazine titles, as well as edited and assisted in the publication of five books. His writing and communication skills are topnotch. Much of his talent lies in making complex subjects easily understandable, and Dave always gets to the heart of a concept with clarity and impact.
Lindsay Miller, Account Executive—Lindsay works closely with broadcast and print media. She handles day-to-day booking of the media and frequently pitches story ideas that garner top-tier media placements. She also helps write press materials that capture the attention of the media, providing clients with publicity in high-profile publications. She holds a B.A. in journalism and mass communication with a concentration in public relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Derica Justice, Account Executive—Derica is responsible for a wide range of duties at DeHart & Company, including managing media accounts, hits, memos, and media follow-up. Her strong organizational skills make her the go-to person for any media inquiries. She also has an acute eye for detail, which helps her put the finishing touch on any project. Derica holds a B.S. in business administration with a concentration in marketing from North Carolina State University.
Heather Prestwood, Account Executive—Heather works with the media on a daily basis pitching story ideas and booking interviews. She keeps in tune with current events and trends, bringing a fresh perspective to her media pitches. Her high-level organizational skills and attention to detail enable her to flawlessly manage media interview schedules for busy clients. Heather holds a B.A. in communication studies with a concentration in public relations and marketing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Erin Flynn, Account Executive—Erin has been a publicist, communications consultant, writer, and editor. She has extensive experience booking city tours, radio tours, and speaking engagements for authors in addition to placing them in newspapers and magazines. Erin is an accomplished writer whose articles have appeared on Careerbuilder.com and MSN Careers and in publications such as Brandweek, Costco Connection, and Sales and Marketing Excellence. Erin is also a wonderful media pitcher whose expertise lies in getting unknown experts their first media placements and booking radio tours. Erin received a B.A. in communications from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.
Charity Hand, Account Executive—Charity is a master media pitcher. She has an amazing ability to craft tailored pitches that target individuals throughout the media. She is also a technical wizard with a sharp eye. Charity is brilliant at tracking down leads and locating hits for our clients as they appear in major media. Charity holds a B.A. in communications with a concentration in print and broadcast journalism from Lenoir-Rhyne College.
Eve Campbell, Account Executive—Eve works closely with broadcast, radio, and print media and uses her flair for the dramatic to sell story ideas and client appearances to the most reputable media sources nationwide. In addition, she also uses her writing skills to craft winning press releases, articles, newsletters, website copy, and other publicity modes. Eve holds degrees in English literature and drama from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Ann Keller, Graphic Designer—Ann creates all graphics needed to effectively brand you and your mission. She is trained in effective and breakthrough branding work, including outstanding direct mail pieces. Ann is proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Quark Xpress, Adobe Illustrator, and PowerPoint.
Kory Bailey, Graphic and Web Designer—Kory graduated from The Art Institute-Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts in York, Pennsylvania, in 1998 and has been designing effective communications in both print and interactive mediums for more than eight years. With experience in many environments, from advertising agencies, interactive firms, and in-house creative departments, Kory has worked for clients ranging from local non-profits to national household names including DuPont, Verbatim, Broyhill, Keds, Wrangler, and Portfolio. He is a well-rounded, multi-disciplined designer who has the ability to create and maintain a strategic branding message across all communication platforms. |
